Description
Finance touches almost every part of this business, and this role gives you a front-row seat to it all.
As Finance Manager, you'll become the person who keeps the commercial and financial engine running smoothly. One day you might be reviewing supplier pricing to ensure the business remains competitive. The next, you'll be managing cash flow, analysing trends, negotiating service contracts, or ensuring customer pricing is accurately maintained across multiple systems.
You'll oversee the accounts payable function, submit VAT returns, and work closely alongside external accountants during the year-end process. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the business is making informed commercial decisions, using financial data to identify opportunities, improve efficiency and protect profitability.
This is a broad and varied position that would suit someone who enjoys balancing hands-on financial management with commercial involvement and problem solving. Key responsibilities
Managing supplier pricing and ensuring pricing data remains accurate and competitive
Ownership of cash flow management and forecasting
Overseeing accounts payable, supplier invoices and payment processes
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Managing supplier and service contracts to achieve the best commercial value
Maintaining customer pricing across internal systems and customer procurement platforms
Supporting the production of annual accounts alongside external accountants
Producing financial information to support business decision-making
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
Profile
You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership and doesn't wait to be told what needs doing. You'll combine strong financial knowledge with commercial awareness and be comfortable working across different areas of a growing business.
Strong finance and accounting experience
Previous experience within a Finance Manager or similar role
Knowledge of accounts payable processes
Excellent Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience managing cash flow and financial controls
SAP Business One experience (highly desirable)
SQL or data manipulation experience (advantageous but not essential)
A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge and improve processes
