Resourcery Group are exclusively supporting a well-established, community led charity in Liverpool in the appointment of a Director of Finance and Governance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance leader who wants to make a genuine difference, whether you are an up and coming Senior Finance professional ready for your next step, or an experienced Finance Director looking to bring your expertise to a purpose driven organisation.
Working closely with the CEO and part of the Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership across Finance, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Systems and organisational assurance, helping to shape the organisation’s long-term sustainability and continued growth. Key responsibilities
Lead the financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, modelling and long-term financial planning.
Provide strong commercial insight to support sustainable growth, investment and effective decision-making.
Oversee financial management of property, facilities and capital projects.
Strengthen financial controls, reserves, cash flow, restricted funds and grant compliance.
Lead statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance.
Develop and oversee the organisation’s governance, risk and assurance frameworks.
Provide trusted advice to the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team.
Lead and develop the finance and governance function, driving accountability, continuous improvement and data-led decision-making.
Build strong relationships with funders, partners, advisors and wider stakeholders.
About you You will be a fully Qualified Accountant with significant Senior Finance experience and demonstrable governance exposure. You will have the credibility to influence at Board/Trustee and Executive level, alongside a strong commercial mindset and the ability to turn financial insight into meaningful organisational decisions.
Experience within the charitable/ Not For Profit sector and experience in SORP, Grant funding, and capital projects would be highly advantageous. Most importantly, you will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to work collaboratively, challenge professionally and constructively and develop trusted relationships with the CEO and the wider Leadership Team.

Salary: £70,000–£75,000 (plus car allowance) Location: Liverpool / Hybrid Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays Pension: Defined Contribution pension scheme Benefits: Additional benefits package
