Finance Business Partner

Commercial Controller | Manufacturing | Dudley Up to £70,000 + benefits | Permanent | Hybrid - 3 days on site This isn't a month-end role. If your background is in commercial finance, finance business partnering or commercial analysis, and you enjoy being close to the decisions that drive a manufacturing business forward, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.

I'm working exclusively on a newly created Commercial Controller position within a growing manufacturing business that has recently been acquired and is now part of a much larger European corporate group.

The business is growing quickly - with an ambitious plan to double turnover over the next three years - and finance is becoming increasingly influential in how the site makes commercial decisions.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, partnering directly with the Site Managing Director and wider leadership team, with a dotted line into Group Finance. What will make you stand out? You will already have a strong commercial finance / business partnering background and be comfortable challenging the numbers rather than simply reporting them.

I'm particularly interested in people who have experience with

Commercial forecasting and financial modelling

Pricing, margin and profitability analysis

Challenging assumptions around sales, volumes, customer opportunities and cost

Working closely with Sales, Operations and senior leadership

Turning financial data into commercial decisions and actions

Manufacturing, FMCG, retail or another commercially driven environment

Private label, retailer relationships or customer-specific pricing

Acquisition, integration or bringing a business into a larger group structure

You might currently be a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Analyst, Senior Commercial Analyst or similar, and see this as the opportunity to step into a broader Commercial Controller position. What this role isn't This isn't a traditional Financial Controller or Management Accountant position.

If your experience is primarily month-end, statutory reporting and financial control, without significant commercial partnering, forecasting, pricing or margin exposure, this probably won't be the right fit.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the commercial conversation - someone who can ask the difficult questions, spot an opportunity in the numbers and help the leadership team make better decisions. Why now? The business is at an interesting point in its growth.

Following a recent acquisition, it is becoming part of a much larger international group while retaining significant opportunity at site level. There is a genuine chance for the right person to influence how the finance function supports that growth, rather than simply stepping into an established process.
