Robert Half are working with a growing innovative manufacturing organisation based in North Bristol who are looking to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of the safe, efficient and compliant operation of their site.
This is a key leadership position within the business, responsible for facilities, infrastructure, maintenance and health & safety across both workshop and office environments. Reporting into the Manufacturing Director, the successful candidate will lead facilities strategy, manage critical site services and play a central role in supporting operational performance and future growth.

Key Responsibilities
Taking full accountability for the performance, safety and upkeep of the entire site, including workshop and office facilities
Managing building services and infrastructure, including HVAC, utilities, compressed air systems, power distribution and life safety systems
Leading planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities across the site
Managing site layout, space utilisation and infrastructure planning to support operational growth
Providing leadership and oversight of workshop operations through direct reports
Working closely with engineering and production teams to optimise workflows, layouts and asset utilisation
Managing health, safety and environmental compliance in line with relevant legislation and company standards
Ensuring compliance with PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, CDM and other applicable regulations
Supporting audits and maintaining compliance with quality, customer and regulatory requirements
Driving a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in risk management
Managing relationships with external contractors, suppliers and facilities service providers
Overseeing contractor control processes, permits to work and safe systems of work
Managing facilities budgets and driving cost control across site operations
Developing and maintaining asset management and maintenance systems, ensuring accurate asset registers and lifecycle planning
Monitoring utilities consumption and identifying opportunities for efficiency and sustainability improvements
Establishing and monitoring KPIs across facilities, maintenance and health & safety performance
Leading continuous improvement initiatives to improve site reliability, safety and operational efficiency
Person Specification
Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams and driving accountability
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with both operational teams and senior leadership
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities across planned and reactive activities
Commercially aware with the ability to balance operational requirements, risk and cost
Analytical and solutions-focused approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
Proactive, hands-on and capable of operating effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Skills & Experience
Degree, HNC or HND in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline
IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
Proven experience in Facilities Management, Estates Management or Operations Management within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of building services, maintenance management and site infrastructure
Experience using CAFM, asset management or maintenance planning systems
Demonstrable experience managing health & safety systems and regulatory compliance
Experience leading and developing teams within a technical or operational environment
Package & Benefits
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience
