External Reporting Accountant / Warrington (Hybrid) / Salary £55,000 - £60,000 + bonus

The Opportunity

As part of a growing external reporting team, you'll play a key role in delivering statutory and group reporting across a diverse portfolio of entities. You'll take ownership of complex accounting areas, support key business initiatives, and help shape reporting processes as the business continues its growth journey.

This role offers a unique blend of technical accounting, group reporting, stakeholder engagement and business improvement, making it an ideal move for someone looking to broaden their experience and position themselves for future leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of technical balance sheet areas across a portfolio of legal entities, including provisions, pensions, investments, impairments, financing and intercompany balances.

Lead legal entity reviews, ensuring reconciliations, supporting documentation and accounting judgements are robust, accurate and audit-ready.

Review journals, account mappings and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks and driving issues through to resolution.

Partner closely with teams across Management Accounts, Tax, Treasury and wider Finance to ensure successful reporting outcomes.

Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and UK reporting standards.

Manage external audit activities for your allocated entities, coordinating responses and maintaining ownership of deliverables.

Support the preparation of technical accounting papers and key reporting judgements.

Deliver accurate and timely submissions for half-year and year-end group reporting requirements.

Contribute to consolidation processes and provide insightful analysis of financial movements and reporting trends.

Support the integration of newly acquired businesses and ongoing organisational changes.

Drive continuous improvement, helping to standardise reporting processes, strengthen controls and identify opportunities for automation.

Act as a technical accounting point of contact, providing guidance and support to finance stakeholders across the business.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with ambition and a desire to progress their career within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

You'll ideally have

ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.

Experience within external reporting, statutory reporting, audit or group finance.

Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK reporting frameworks including FRS 101 and FRS 102.

The ability to analyse complex accounting issues and communicate conclusions clearly.

Strong Excel and analytical skills, with experience working across large data sets.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

A proactive approach, taking ownership and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
