What you'll do

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Cloudflare One Client Apps team. The team owns our consumer and enterprise mobile apps (iOS and Android) and the GUI across all desktop platforms. The client powers private and secure internet access for our customers, sitting between their devices and Cloudflare's edge to enforce filtering and policy.

You will be most successful in this role if you have strong experience developing mobile applications and working with platform networking frameworks (Network Extension on iOS, VpnService on Android), paired with a good eye for UI/UX. Familiarity with networking fundamentals is a plus.

You will play a key role in shaping the product's engineering strategy, working with other engineering teams, product management, and external stakeholders to implement customer-impacting features and meet the team's ambitious goals of quality and velocity. You will work closely with your team to improve code quality and build solid, testable, and well-documented foundations.You will own the team's process for planning, execution, and shipping, and you'll be accountable for achieving our goals.

You will be expected to interact with our customers and internal stakeholders, to identify gaps and areas of improvements in our product and processes alike, and to work with your own stakeholders to transform those into innovative, actionable, and achievable solutions.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge, and experience

5+ years of experience leading a team of geographically distributed engineers, including hiring, coaching, and professional development

Experience shipping mobile applications and SDKs

Experience building GUI applications, ideally with Flutter or another cross-platform framework, with a good eye for UI/UX

Good understanding of VPN, SASE technologies and networking.

An AI-first mindset, leveraging AI to accelerate the team's velocity across coding, reviews, documentation, and operations, while maintaining accountability for the quality of what ships

A commitment to strong CI/CD and automated integration testing as the foundation for shipping quickly and confidently
