This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to take ownership of a significant business division and play a key role in driving commercial performance, strategic decision-making and future growth. Reporting directly to an impressive Finance Director, you will be a valued member of the divisional leadership team, providing both financial stewardship and commercial insight across the business.
The role will particularly appeal to an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager, Head of Commercial Finance or FP&A leader seeking a broader leadership position with greater strategic influence and operational responsibility.
The Opportunity
As Divisional Head of Finance, you will lead the finance function for a sizeable division, partnering with senior operational and commercial stakeholders to drive profitability, support growth initiatives and ensure robust financial governance.
This is a highly visible role offering significant exposure to senior leadership, business transformation initiatives and acquisition activity, with genuine scope for future progression.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the divisional finance function, providing strategic and operational support to the Finance Director and wider leadership team.
Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, influencing key commercial and operational decisions.
Develop, mentor and inspire a high-performing finance team, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting.
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
Deliver meaningful financial insight and performance analysis to support business decision-making.
Present budgets, forecasts and performance updates to senior leadership teams.
Lead financial modelling, investment appraisals and business case development to support strategic projects and growth opportunities.
Support acquisition activity, due diligence and post-acquisition integration initiatives.
Drive improvements in reporting, systems, processes and financial controls to enhance business performance.
Maintain strong governance and support audit requirements across the division.
About You
We're seeking a commercially minded, ambitious finance professional who combines strong technical capability with the ability to influence, challenge and partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
You will be comfortable operating within a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of driving business performance through insightful financial leadership.
Essential Experience
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
Significant experience within Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance, FP&A or a related leadership role.
Strong experience partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders.
Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
Previous experience leading, coaching or developing finance teams.
Advanced financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong systems aptitude and advanced Excel capability.
Ability to influence, challenge and engage stakeholders at senior leadership level.
Desirable Experience
Experience within engineering, infrastructure, construction, utilities or other project-led environments.
Exposure to acquisitions, business integration projects or large-scale change programmes.
Experience operating within a growing, acquisitive or multi-site business.
