Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding and visionary product leader who is passionate about serving the AI builder community. This person will define and drive the execution of our product strategy and roadmap across the builder journey with a growing portfolio that spans MongoDB's AI centric tooling -- such as our MCP server, Agent Skills, and AI framework support. You will also serve as a bridge to ensure the AI builder experience interfaces well across our tooling, such as via the Intelligent Assistant in MongoDB Compass, mongosh (MongoDB’s shell), Atlas CLI, IDE-specific integrations and extensions and local development experiences, to libraries such as language drivers and application frameworks. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at every level of the organization, including executive leadership and cross-functional teams across multiple business units, to ensure that all MongoDB features are seamlessly woven into one of the best builder experiences in technology as we move fully into the age of AI.

Your leadership in this role will be instrumental in not just maintaining, but increasing and intensifying builders’ love of MongoDB.

This role follows a hybrid working model in our Dublin office.

What You'll Do

Lead and develop a high-performing product team. You'll manage a team of product managers, including managers of managers, creating an environment where people grow, stay challenged, and do their best work. You'll be a hands-on coach who can help your team get unstuck — not just a strategist, but someone who has shipped complex products themselves

Define and own a coherent vision across a broad portfolio. Builder Experience isn't a single product — it's a collection of interconnected tools, libraries, and frameworks. You'll develop a strategy that makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts, and communicate that vision clearly to stakeholders up and down the organization

Set goals, track the right metrics, and drive outcomes. Builder tooling doesn't have a direct revenue line, but it has a profound impact on activation, retention, and churn. You'll build a strong partnership with product analytics to identify the right signals, formulate meaningful metrics, and use data to drive decisions

Be a credible technical voice. You'll engage deeply with engineering directors and architects on decisions involving network protocols, distributed systems, and client libraries. You won't write the code, but you'll need to understand it well enough to help the team make the right tradeoffs, communicate confidently with technical customers, and be a strong advocate for the builders out there who are creating with MongoDB

Champion AI as a first-class capability. Developers and builders across business are increasingly relying on AI to build but also building AI-native applications, and MongoDB is at the center of this shift. You'll help ensure our builder tooling is purpose-built for the AI era — and you'll bring genuine enthusiasm for what that means for the products your team owns

Partner deeply with engineering and design. You'll be a trusted counterpart — not a gatekeeper — to your engineering and design partners. When hard prioritization calls have to be made, you'll bring the team along with transparency and clear reasoning

Drive go-to-market as a product leader. You understand what a productive collaboration with product marketing looks like. You'll help shape messaging and positioning for a builder audience, and you'll be a participant in that process — not someone who throws products over the fence and expects others to figure out how to talk about them

Represent Builder Experience to the business. This is a highly visible role. You'll present roadmaps and strategies to executive leadership, engage with key customers, and serve as the organizational voice for why builder experience matters to MongoDB's long-term success
