We are looking for a Director of Engineering to join the AI Practice Efficiency team.
Your mission will be to define and deliver how AI transforms the daily work of healthcare professionals — across intelligent scheduling, automated document processing, smart task management, and AI-assisted patient communication. You will lead teams building AI-powered features across two horizons: augmenting existing practice workflows with intelligent capabilities, and pioneering net-new AI-native products that unlock entirely new value for practitioners and their patients. Working in the tech team at Doctolib means building innovative products and features that improve the daily lives of care teams and patients across Europe.
Lead and scale 1 engineering team owning the AI Practice Efficiency scope: manage teams delivering AI features across practice workflows — intelligent scheduling, automated document processing, smart task management, and AI-assisted patient communication. Champion delivers excellence by unblocking teams, setting high execution standards, and accelerating the pace of experimentation and production release, with an initial focus on the Phone assistant, currently one of Doctolib's most strategic product bets that we need to grow.
Define and execute the AI product-engineering strategy: in close partnership with Product, Data Science, and Design, set the technical direction for AI Practice Efficiency — deciding when to build vs. buy, how to evaluate and select foundation models, when to fine-tune, and how to architect for safety, explainability, and regulatory compliance. Balance ambitious AI innovation with pragmatic, high-quality execution.
Own responsible AI delivery in a regulated context: ensure AI features are built with appropriate safeguards for a healthcare environment, covering evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop design, data privacy (GDPR/HDS), explainability, and bias mi
