Data Platform Agile Delivery Lead - London - £575/pd Please note - this role will require you to attend the London based office as needed. To be eligible for this role you must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. This organisation is not able to offer sponsorship. Overview My client is a global technology consulting partner, working with leading consultancies and end clients to deliver high-impact digital and technology transformation programmes worldwide. They are currently supporting a major consultancy engagement and are looking for an experienced Data Platform Agile Delivery Lead to join a high-profile delivery for a government organisation.

This role combines hands-on agile delivery leadership with strategic planning and stakeholder management, supporting a large-scale AWS DevOps platform team within a complex, regulated environment. Role Summary You will lead a 15-person AWS DevOps Platform team, split across three delivery pods, guiding the successful delivery of a critical data and cloud platform. Acting as both Scrum Master and delivery lead, you will ensure strong agile execution while maintaining oversight of dependencies, risks, and roadmap delivery.

The ideal candidate brings a strong DevOps or cloud engineering background, is comfortable operating at both team and programme level, and can foster accountability, pace, and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

Delivery Leadership: Own end-to-end delivery of the platform roadmap, managing cross-team dependencies, risks, and stakeholder reporting

Agile Facilitation: Lead all agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement across a large team

Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve technical, process, or organisational blockers to protect delivery outcomes

DevOps Culture & Process: Support adoption of DevOps best practices including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and quality standards

Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering leaders to align priorities and technical direction

Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Track and analyse delivery and DevOps metrics (velocity, cycle time, deployment frequency, change failure rate) to drive performance improvements

Coaching & Mentorship: Promote agile maturity, self-organisation, and a culture of accountability within the team

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years' experience as an Agile Delivery Lead, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Technical Project Manager

Strong understanding of AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, IAM, EKS, RDS)

Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

Proven ability to lead and motivate delivery teams in complex, fast-paced environments

Strong experience using Jira or similar agile delivery tools

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical teams and senior stakeholders

Desirable Skills

AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)

Agile or project certifications (CSM, CSP, PMP)

Previous experience as a Software Engineer or DevOps Engineer

Additional Information

Contract length: 3 months

Day rate: £575 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: London, with on-site attendance required for important meetings and workshops
