Technical Lead - Infrastructure & Security (6-Month Contract) Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid) Contract Length: 6 Months Sector: Global Banking / Financial Services About the Role A leading global bank is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join its Infrastructure & Security function on an initial 6-month contract, based in Edinburgh with hybrid working arrangements. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can combine deep technical expertise with the ability to guide and coordinate a team through complex infrastructure and security initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across infrastructure and security work streams, ensuring solutions align with the bank's architecture and security standards
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise firewall estates, ensuring robust perimeter and internal segmentation controls
Lead on CyberArk implementation, configuration, and ongoing management, including privileged access management (PAM) best practices
Act as a senior technical escalation point for infrastructure and security incidents, driving root cause analysis and remediation
Collaborate with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure meets regulatory and internal policy requirements
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team
Produce clear technical documentation, run-books, and architecture diagrams
Support audits and assurance activities relating to infrastructure security controls
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong background in infrastructure engineering within large, complex enterprise environments (ideally financial services or another regulated industry)
Proven hands-on experience with firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco) - design, deployment, and troubleshooting
Demonstrable expertise in CyberArk (PAM/PSM/CPM) implementation and administration
Solid understanding of security principles, including network segmentation, access control, and threat mitigation
Experience operating in a technical lead capacity - able to guide technical direction and support delivery teams
Strong stakeholder communication skills, comfortable liaising with security, risk, and compliance functions
Experience working within a regulated or highly governed environment is highly desirable

Duration: 6 months (with potential to extend depending on business need)
Working Pattern: Hybrid - combination of on-site presence in Edinburgh and remote working
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience (inside IR35)
