An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CRM Strategist to join a successful and growing subscription-led digital business. This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for shaping CRM strategy, audience segmentation, lifecycle marketing automation and customer communications.
Working within a collaborative Customer Marketing team, you will lead CRM initiatives that deliver personalised customer experiences, improve engagement and retention, and drive long-term revenue growth. You will also have line management responsibility for a direct report, supporting their development and day-to-day delivery.
This role would suit someone with strong CRM expertise gained within a digital, media, publishing, subscription or membership environment who enjoys combining strategy, data insight and operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a business-wide CRM strategy to improve customer acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention.
Design and optimise automated customer lifecycle journeys, including onboarding, engagement, renewal and win-back campaigns.
Lead testing and optimisation programmes, including A/B and multivariate testing.
Collaborate with marketing, commercial, editorial, data and technology teams to align CRM activity with wider business objectives.
Build and maintain automated workflows, customer journeys, campaign templates and preference centres.
Develop reporting frameworks and dashboards to measure campaign effectiveness and customer performance.
Act as the primary contact for CRM platform enhancements, integrations and support.
Develop internal processes and quality assurance procedures for CRM campaigns.
Manage segmentation strategies to improve targeting, personalisation and customer lifetime value.
Work closely with data, legal and technology teams to ensure compliant customer communications.
About You
Proven experience developing and executing CRM strategies within a digital, media, publishing, subscription or membership-based business is ideal.
Strong hands-on experience with CRM and email marketing platforms.
Excellent knowledge of customer segmentation, marketing automation, deliverability and data management.
Experience managing testing programmes and using data to drive optimisation.
Good understanding of GDPR, PECR and CRM compliance requirements.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
The ability to translate customer insights into effective lifecycle marketing strategies.
Previous people management or mentoring experience.
