The Business Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a growing FMCG business based in Trafford Park in their search for a Credit Control Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to take ownership of the credit function, lead a growing team, and play a key role in managing cash flow within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Role You will be responsible for leading the credit control team and ensuring effective management of the sales ledger and debt recovery process. Key responsibilities include:
Managing, mentoring and developing a team of Credit Controllers.
Driving cash collection activity and reducing aged debt across a large customer base.
Monitoring customer accounts, credit limits and exposure to minimise risk.
Developing and implementing credit control procedures and best practices.
Building strong relationships with key customers, ensuring prompt resolution of payment queries.
Producing aged debt, cash collection and KPI reports for senior management.
Working closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
Managing escalated and complex customer accounts.
Supporting cash flow forecasting and month-end reporting activities.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase team performance.
Person
Previous experience in a Credit Control Manager, Credit Manager or Senior Credit Control role.
Experience working within a high-volume transactional environment.
Proven success in improving collections performance and reducing overdue debt.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong analytical skills with good Excel and finance systems knowledge.
A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced business.
