Cost Accountant

Your new company A growing manufacturing business based in Radstock is looking to appoint a Cost Accountant to join its finance team for 3-6 months.

Your new role As Cost Accountant, you'll be responsible for monitoring and analysing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate product costing information and supporting month-end reporting processes. Key Responsibilities

Producing detailed cost and margin analysis across product lines

Monitoring material, labour and overhead costs

Analysing manufacturing variances and investigating performance trends

Supporting stock accounting and inventory reconciliations

Maintaining standard costing models and reviewing actual costs against standards

Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts preparation

Preparing accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations

Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities

Providing financial insight to production and operations teams

Monitoring inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reduce waste

Supporting year-end audit requirements

Driving continuous improvement across costing and reporting processes

What you'll need to succeed

Previous experience within a Cost Accountant, Management Accountant or Manufacturing Accountant role

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment

Good understanding of stock accounting and cost analysis

Advanced Excel skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with operational teams

Proactive approach with a focus on process improvement
