Compliance Manager
University of Bristol
Full Time, Permanent
Competitive salary, private healthcare and flexible benefits
Summary
NG Bailey's Engineering team has just delivered a brand-new, state-of-the-art building for the University of Bristol, and we're now mobilising the Facilities Services team who will keep it running. We're looking for an experienced Resident Compliance Manager to lead on health, safety and compliance for the contract from day one.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a new contract from the ground up, working closely with the Contract Manager as their right hand on site. You'll be the natural successor to the Contract Manager role, stepping into their shoes to provide holiday and absence cover, with real scope to grow your career as the contract matures.
Providing visible, hands-on health, safety and compliance leadership, embedding our "Safety First and Foremost" culture across every part of the contract.
Acting as the site's go-to expert on health, safety and compliance, offering practical, timely advice to the Contract Manager and wider operational team.
Building strong working relationships with the client and site stakeholders, promoting collaboration and best practice.
Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews against NG Bailey and client standards.
Getting involved in incident and near-miss investigations, digging into root causes and helping put effective fixes in place.
Representing health and safety at operational meetings, client forums and safety briefings.
Stepping up to cover the Contract Manager during periods of leave, as the recognised second-in-command on the contract.
An engaging, safety-focused professional who's comfortable being the go-to person on site and enjoys building relationships with clients and teams alike. You'll bring:
A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 health and safety qualification).
Solid working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
Experience gained within Facilities Management, Building Services or M&E maintenance.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
The drive to work independently while building effective relationships across operational teams.
We're always evolving our benefits to ensure we're attracting and retaining great people. Some of what you can expect includes:
25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays with an option to Buy/Sell additional days
Pension with a leading provider and up to 8% employer contribution
Personal Wellbeing and Volunteer Days
Private Medical Insurance
Life Assurance
Salary sacrifice car scheme (Hybrid/Electric Vehicle)
Free 24/7 365 Employee Assistance Program to support mental health and well-being (including counselling sessions and legal advice)
Flexible benefits to choose from inc: Dental Insurance, Gym Membership, Give As You Earn, Travel Insurance, Tax Free Bikes.
As a business, we’re on a journey to build on our culture where everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. This starts with recruitment and how we bring people into the organisation.
