Commercial FP&A Analyst Greater Manchester Area
We’re working with a successful and growing business as they look to appoint a Commercial FP&A Analyst into their finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and gain greater exposure to the commercial side of finance. The role is far more than traditional reporting. You’ll work closely with the FP&A Manager, as well as teams across the wider business using financial and operational data to understand performance, identify trends and support better commercial decision-making.
It’s an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with data and Excel but also wants to understand the “why” behind the numbers and have a genuine influence on the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement.
Work closely with the wider business and non-finance stakeholders to understand business performance and provide financial insight.
Use Excel extensively to analyse large datasets and produce meaningful commercial analysis.
Support budgeting, forecasting and wider FP&A activity.
Investigate variances and understand the key drivers behind financial and operational performance.
Present findings and insights to finance and non-finance stakeholders in a clear and commercially focused way.
Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and use data to help identify solutions.
Support the FP&A Manager with ad-hoc analysis and wider commercial projects.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and the use of data across the business.
About You
We’re looking for an analytical and commercially minded finance professional with a minimum of 2+ years’ relevant experience.
You could currently be working within FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting, financial analysis or another data-heavy finance environment and be looking for your next step.
Strong Excel skills are essential. You’ll be comfortable working with large datasets, manipulating and analysing information and using Excel to identify meaningful trends and insights.
You must be curious, commercially minded and keen to develop.
