Commercial Finance Analyst

Commercial Finance Analyst Location: Liverpool Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Study Support Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a rapidly growing business based in Liverpool.

This is a broad and highly visible role that will see you partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and drive commercial performance. Working within an ambitious and fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting, profitability analysis and business partnering activities.

This position would suit a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their commercial finance and FP&A experience within a growing organisation. Key ResponsibilitiesForecasting, Reporting & Analysis

Support the production and maintenance of rolling sales, stock and cashflow forecasts.

Assist with weekly cashflow reporting and working capital analysis.

Produce and maintain monthly KPI and management reporting packs.

Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.

Conduct scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting.

Business Partnering

Work closely with budget holders and department managers to monitor financial performance.

Analyse variances against budget and provide meaningful commentary.

Support budget-setting and reforecasting processes.

Act as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders across the business.

Translate financial information into clear commercial insights.

Commercial Performance Analysis

Monitor sales and margin performance across multiple sales channels.

Analyse product, customer and channel profitability.

Identify performance trends, risks and opportunities to drive profitability.

Support commercial reviews and performance reporting.

Provide insight into market and competitor activity.

Process Improvement

Continuously improve financial reporting, forecasting tools and processes.

Utilise Excel and financial systems to improve reporting efficiency and automation.

Support a variety of commercial and finance-related projects as the business continues to grow.

About YouEssential

Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with ongoing studies toward qualification.

Previous experience within Commercial Finance, FP&A, Financial Analysis or a similar role.

Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Confident communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.

Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
