Commercial Director

SF Search Partners are partnering with a well-established membership organisation to appoint a Commercial Director. Reporting to the CEO, you'll lead the commercial strategy, drive membership growth and retention, and oversee a broad commercial function spanning Business Development, Relationship Management, Commercial Partnerships, Marketing, Digital, and Events. This is a key Executive Leadership Team appointment, offering the opportunity to shape organisational growth, influence strategic direction and play a leading role within a respected, purpose-led organisation.

The Role You'll lead the organisation's commercial function, with responsibility for membership growth, retention, customer experience, and commercial income. Managing senior leaders across Business Development, Relationship Management, Commercial Partnerships, Marketing, Digital and Events, you'll develop and deliver the commercial strategy while driving performance, collaboration, and sustainable growth. You'll also play an active role within the Executive Leadership Team, representing the organisation externally and building strong relationships with members, partners, and key stakeholders.

About You We're looking for an accomplished commercial leader who can demonstrate:

• A proven track record of delivering commercial growth and recurring revenue.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams through senior managers.
• Strong commercial, strategic and financial acumen.
• Success in customer acquisition, retention and relationship management.
• Experience developing commercial partnerships and identifying new revenue opportunities.
• The ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate confidently at Executive and Board level.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high-performing teams.

Experience within a membership organisation, professional body, trade association, or subscription-based business would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in candidates with relevant commercial leadership experience from other customer-focused, B2B environments.
