Client accountant

Birmingham City Centre, Up to £36k Plus benefits and Hybrid working Client Accountant We are recruiting for a Client Accountant to join an established property and asset services organisation. You'll manage accounting across a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely financial services. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Accounting

Manage client and property trial balances.

Prepare client and management reports.

Handle service charge and rent accounting.

Reconcile cash, invoices, and client accounts.

Resolve accounting and client queries.

Maintain accurate financial records and systems.

Manage service charge year-end reconciliations.

Prepare completion statements and funding requests.

Ensure client income is paid accurately and on time.

Support client audits and financial reviews.

Lead client calls and manage external stakeholders.

Support onboarding and offboarding of properties and clients.

Assist with coaching junior accounting team members.

Operations & Risk

Follow internal procedures, RICS guidelines, and client money regulations.

Review outputs from internal and offshore teams.

Identify and escalate financial risks and issues.

Maintain accurate compliance and reporting records.

Systems

Use property management and accounting systems.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records.

Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.

Knowledge & Experience

2-3 years' property or client accounting experience.

Understanding of service charges, rent, and client money.

Experience with property management systems.

PM&A Tramps experience desirable.

Knowledge of RICS/client money regulations desirable.
