Client Accountant

Join our dynamic finance department, integral to a leading integrated communications agency known for transforming the fortunes of its clients. We are seeking a Finance Manager to play a crucial role in managing client finances and ensuring adherence to finance processes and controls. This position offers a blend of autonomy and support, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a lively and challenging environment.
Ensure accurate and timely billing for clients in your portfolio, in line with agreed billing schedules and contractual agreements.
Assist the credit controller in resolving aged debtor issues and support the wider billing team as needed.
Reconcile all production costs and job-related expenses, ensuring all costs are recoverable from clients.
Manage client PO cover before approval and commencement of work.
Keep accrued income to a minimum through close involvement and regular meetings with Finance Business Partners, Management Accounting teams, and the Commercial team.
Track production spend against budgets, highlighting potential overspends to relevant production teams.
Promptly reconcile completed jobs with production teams, ensuring jobs are closed and any outstanding balances are correctly dealt with.
Own all jobs in your client portfolio, ensuring they progress through the job lifecycle efficiently.
Set up and run regular and ad-hoc meetings with account management and production to address WIP issues, clarify job statuses, authorize final reconciliations, and ensure timely closure of jobs.
Review new jobs in the finance system to ensure they are set up correctly for accurate reporting.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a similar industry is preferred but not essential.
Passionate about work with excellent levels of ownership to effectively manage all jobs and billings across their client portfolio.
Thrives in a dynamic, pressurised environment and possesses excellent workload management skills.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Must be a committed team player and capable of working independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident in leading meetings and holding business units accountable.
PC literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Google Docs.
