This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Client Accountant or Property Accountant looking to join a reputable organisation where they can further develop their career within the property sector. Working closely with Property Managers and internal stakeholders, you'll play a key role in managing client finances, preparing service charge accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting across a varied portfolio.
Role Summary
Job Title: Client Accountant
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000
Location: Pimlico, London
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of client properties.
Produce service charge accounts and year-end reconciliations.
Prepare and review service charge budgets and balancing charges.
Carry out bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
Prepare quarterly client reporting packs and financial statements.
Process journals, accruals and prepayments where required.
Review lease information and ensure tenant charges are correctly applied.
Prepare VAT returns and support year-end audit requirements.
Liaise with Property Managers, clients, tenants and auditors to resolve financial queries.
Maintain accurate client account records using property accounting software.
Assist with process improvements and support the wider finance team when required.
Person Specification
Previous experience working as a Client Accountant, Property Accountant or within a similar property finance role.
Experience preparing service charge accounts and client reporting.
Strong reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
Good understanding of accruals, prepayments and journals.
Experience preparing budgets and year-end accounts would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
Experience using MRI Qube, MRI Horizon, Yardi or similar property management software would be advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
