We’re looking for an experienced Civils Operative to join our team delivering fibre infrastructure across the network.

This role is ideal for someone with Openreach PIA experience who is confident working in the field carrying out blockage clearance, rodding and roping, sub-duct installation, and small civils works.

You’ll play a key part in enabling fibre build by ensuring duct routes are clear, chambers are built to spec, and installations are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Locate and clear duct blockages across the Openreach network and our own infrastructure

Carry out rodding and roping of ducts and pulling in sub-duct or cable

Complete PIA preparation works to Openreach specifications

Undertake small civils works including

Track work

Chamber builds

Core drilling

Set up and manage safe work sites in line with Red Book / Streetworks requirements

Carry out reinstatement works to HAUC specification

Ensure all tools, plant, and vehicles are maintained and ready for use

Complete job reports and digital forms as required

Support wider operational teams where needed

Participate in occasional weekend work depending on project requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience working on Openreach PIA networks

Strong experience with rodding, roping, and blockage clearance

NRSWA accreditation

PIA qualification or demonstrable experience

Confined Spaces training

Full UK driving licence

Ability to work independently in field environments

Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable Experience

Experience using plant including

Mini digger

Whacker plate

Stihl saw

Experience completing chamber builds and reinstatement works
