Bristol (Hybrid Working)

£35,000 - £39,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

Are you a commercially driven professional who enjoys building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and opening doors with new clients? We're looking for a proactive Business Development Specialist to join a growing organisation and play a key role in driving new business growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in sales, business development, lead generation, or a client-facing commercial role who thrives on engaging prospects, understanding their challenges, and converting conversations into opportunities.

The Role

As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective clients, qualifying opportunities, and supporting the sales process through to onboarding.

Key responsibilities include

Researching and identifying prospective clients within target sectors

Proactively generating leads through phone, email, LinkedIn, networking, and events

Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of opportunities

Conducting discovery conversations to understand client needs and challenges

Qualifying leads and assessing commercial fit

Clearly communicating service offerings and value propositions

Maintaining accurate CRM records and pipeline updates

Collaborating with marketing and commercial teams on campaigns and lead follow-up

Staying informed on industry developments, market trends, and regulatory changes

Supporting a smooth handover of qualified opportunities to account management teams

About You

We're looking for someone who is

Experienced in business development, sales, lead generation, or a similar commercial role

Confident initiating conversations and developing new business relationships

An excellent communicator with strong questioning and listening skills

Commercially aware and opportunity-focused

Organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to contribute to team success

Quick to learn new concepts and comfortable developing knowledge in technical or regulated sectors

Salary of £35,000 - £39,000

Working Pattern
