The company The company is an established, family-owned UK manufacturer of specialist commercial and industrial textile products.
Operating from its West Midlands manufacturing facility, the company provides bespoke textile solutions across the transport, automotive, engineering, construction, defence and leisure sectors.
Its commercial vehicle offering includes tension curtains, replacement curtains, protective covers and other bespoke products designed around customers’ operational requirements. The role As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for increasing sales across the commercial vehicle fleet, rental and maintenance markets.
You will develop relationships with fleet operators, commercial vehicle rental and leasing companies, maintenance providers, vehicle repairers and other organisations responsible for operating and maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers.
Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK
Building relationships with fleet, engineering, maintenance and procurement decision-makers
Developing business with commercial vehicle rental and leasing organisations
Targeting fleet maintenance centres, repair networks and refurbishment businesses
Understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate solutions
Preparing commercial proposals and following opportunities through to completion
Growing existing accounts and identifying additional product opportunities
Working closely with manufacturing and operational colleagues
Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and providing regular forecasts
Monitoring market activity and identifying new routes to market
This is a consultative sales role. You will need to understand how customers operate, identify where the company can add value and develop solutions around individual fleet and vehicle requirements. What are we looking for? You will be an experienced business development or field sales professional with a track record of winning and developing commercial accounts.

Fleet maintenance
Transport and logistics
Load-restraint or vehicle-covering products
Commercial vehicle repair and refurbishment
You do not necessarily need previous experience selling industrial textiles. However, you must be comfortable selling a physical product or technical solution into commercial customers.
A proven track record of developing new business
Strong relationship-building and account-development skills
The confidence to approach senior operational and commercial decision-makers
A practical understanding of customer requirements
Good commercial and negotiation skills
The ability to manage a geographically broad territory
A self-motivated and organised approach to remote working
A full UK driving licence
The position is remote, although regular customer visits and travel to the West Midlands facility will be required. The preferred location is within the Midlands or North of England, up to the M62 corridor.
