A leading international law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its market-leading Capital Markets & Finance practices across EMEA.
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the role will act as a strategic adviser to practice leaders and partners, driving business development, client growth and market positioning across the region. Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver EMEA business development and practice group plans.
Advise partners on market trends, competitive dynamics, client priorities and growth opportunities.
Lead pitches, credentials and client presentations, ensuring compelling, tailored and high-quality materials.
Drive client development, cross-selling and relationship management initiatives.
Analyse key clients, targets, markets and competitors, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Lead legal directory, league table and awards submissions, including Chambers and Legal 500.
Develop thought leadership, profile-raising and communications initiatives in collaboration with Marketing and PR.
Identify and deliver strategic client events, speaking opportunities and engagement programmes.
Maintain accurate CRM, deal and client data and oversee relevant reporting.
Collaborate closely with BD and marketing colleagues across EMEA and globally, sharing best practice and ensuring alignment.
About You
7+ years' business development experience within an international law firm or professional services environment.
Experience supporting capital markets, finance or transactional practices strongly preferred.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of capital markets, deal processes and competitive dynamics.
Excellent written, verbal, analytical and research skills, with strong attention to detail.
Confident working with senior stakeholders and building credibility with partners.
Highly organised, commercially minded and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively across teams, offices and jurisdictions.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM and deal databases desirable.
