Business Analyst

The post holder will analyse processes, procedures, and operating practices to identify opportunities for improvement and determine appropriate technical solutions. They will design and specify technical solutions, ensuring systems, applications, and integrations are aligned with business requirements and the organisation's digital strategy.

Working closely with both business and technical stakeholders, the Technical Business Analyst will translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications that drive process optimisation, systems improvement, and data-driven decision making across operations.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, logistics, sales, and IT to gather and analyse business requirements. Evaluate and optimise end-to-end workflows and business processes. Apply a range of Business Analysis techniques and methodologies, including data manipulation, gap analysis, trend analysis, data mapping, process modelling, and process diagramming. Translate business problems and user requirements into clear technical specifications for development teams. Develop user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams to support project delivery. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across both business and technical functions. Ensure alignment and understanding of requirements, acceptance criteria, and project objectives. Work closely with internal IT teams and third-party software providers to improve and integrate key business systems. Support the validation of software solutions through test case creation, system testing, user acceptance testing, and troubleshooting activities. Support project implementation phases and resolve technical challenges as they arise. Maintain comprehensive functional and technical documentation to support software development, knowledge transfer, and future enhancements. Manage project timelines and facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Skills & Experience 7+ years' experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or similarly complex operational environments. Strong technical understanding, including familiarity with programming concepts, system architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, and software development practices. Excellent SQL skills with experience extracting, validating, and analysing data. Experience working with EDI, XML/JSON, integration platforms, or middleware solutions. Strong understanding of business process modelling and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. Experience producing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), API documentation, user stories, and use cases. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven mindset. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Systems-thinking approach with the ability to understand interconnected business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Experience using documentation and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart. * Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.

Desirable Experience Experience within manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or other operationally focused environments. Experience working with ERP, MIS, or enterprise business systems. Exposure to production planning, warehouse management, automation, or fulfilment systems.
