Business Analyst
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: London
Job Type: Contract, Hybrid (3 days in the office)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team on a six-month contract. This role is crucial for supporting the delivery of a major transformation programme focused on replacing a key legacy system that is central to business processes across content commissioning, rights management, contributor payments, tax compliance, and syndication.
Day-to-day of the role
Engage in deep, hands-on discovery and process analysis, working directly with operational users across the business.
Document complex and often undocumented workflows, producing detailed AS-IS and TO-BE process models.
Create comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 process maps using tools like BPMN, Lucidchart, and Visio.
Investigate and document the use of offline tools and workarounds that bypass system limitations.
Capture and document detailed business logic, including complex edge cases and exceptions.
Support the Senior Business Analyst in discovery sessions, capturing detailed notes and iteratively updating documentation based on stakeholder input.
Map data flows between systems and support the translation of process steps into system and integration requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in complex transformation or system replacement programmes.
Strong capability in detailed process modelling, including Level 1 and Level 2 flows.
Experience with Lucidchart, Visio, or similar tools.
Working knowledge of BPMN or structured process modelling approaches.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Experience translating real-world workflows into functional requirements.
Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving delivery environments.
Desirable Experience
Background in media, publishing, or content-led organisations.
Familiarity with rights management, syndication, or contributor workflows.
Experience with finance/payroll systems or compliance-heavy environments.
Knowledge of integrated enterprise systems.
Personal Attributes
Highly detail-oriented and methodical.
Curious and investigative, with a collaborative and adaptable approach.
Proactive and organised, able to manage multiple streams of work.
Comfortable working through ambiguity and complexity.
Additional Information
This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring three days per week in the office.
