Associate Director – PR & Communications
Bristol | Hybrid | Agency
£60k-£65k full time OR 4 days a week
If you're a senior PR and communications professional who enjoys combining big-picture strategy with hands-on delivery, this could be the role you've been waiting for.
We're working with a growing Bristol agency that's built an excellent reputation across B2B, tech PR, crisis communications and integrated campaigns.
They're now looking for an Associate Director to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in the next stage of their growth.
Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll lead a portfolio of high-profile clients, providing trusted strategic counsel while overseeing the delivery of creative, impactful campaigns. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – one day you'll be advising clients through complex reputational issues, the next you'll be pitching new business, mentoring the team or presenting campaign results to senior stakeholders.
You'll take ownership of integrated communications programmes spanning PR, social, creative, public affairs, insight and employee engagement, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable results and genuine value for clients.
Commercially, you'll be confident building relationships and spotting opportunities for growth. Whether that's bringing in new clients through your network or identifying opportunities within existing accounts, you'll enjoy playing an active role in developing the agency's business.
You'll also be comfortable leading pitches, presenting ideas and building strong relationships across the technology, business and media landscape.
The successful person will understand B2B communications and enterprise audiences, with the ability to translate complex technical subjects into compelling stories. Experience developing thought leadership campaigns, executive profiling, media relations, award entries and content programmes will all be valuable.
Crisis and issues management is another important part of the role. You'll be someone clients trust when situations move quickly, providing calm, confident advice, developing crisis plans, leading simulation exercises and helping organisations strengthen their future preparedness.
As part of the leadership team, you'll also mentor and develop account managers and executives, helping to create a supportive, ambitious culture where people can do their best work. You'll contribute to agency marketing, resourcing and continuous improvement, helping shape both the client offering and the future direction of the business.
Significant PR agency experience, within B2B and/or technology.
Experience leading integrated communications campaigns.
Strong commercial awareness and a track record of winning and growing client accounts.
Excellent client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience in crisis communications and issues management.
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people.
If you're looking for a genuine leadership role where you'll have influence, variety and the opportunity to help shape a successful agency's future, we'd love to hear from you.
