What you'll do
As an Assistant Management Accountant based in Warrington, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the UK Finance team across a wide range of accounting functions. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with colleagues on audits and financial reviews, performing detailed reconciliations of balance sheets and intercompany accounts, generating insightful reports on aged control accounts, and assisting with process improvements.
Provide essential support during audits and financial reviews, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible for stakeholders.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations, maintaining precise records across accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Generate aged control account data reports for AR/AP, contributing to the improvement of financial processes and systems through insightful analysis.
Offer general assistance to finance colleagues as required, fostering a collaborative atmosphere within the department.
Work closely with the wider accounting team to identify areas for process enhancement and implement improvements that benefit the entire group.
Complete Office National Statistics returns and upload group reporting data for scaffolding, AR, AP, supporting business integrations as needed.
Compile weekly and monthly payroll information, posting burdens accurately while providing month-end support to the broader finance team.
Manage internal hire postings, monthly recharging of costs, commercial journals, and project inboxes efficiently.
Handle intercompany recharges and invoicing clearing tasks, gaining exposure to cost centre overhead reviews for comprehensive financial oversight.
Process daily bank transactions, perform routine reconciliations (bank and control accounts), assist with cashflow monitoring/reporting, resolve banking queries with AP/AR stakeholders, contribute to group cash reporting uploads into Adaptive Insights.
What you bring
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Management Accountant position brings proven experience from an accounts or finance support background - though enthusiasm for learning is equally important. Your proficiency in Excel enables you to analyse complex datasets quickly while your familiarity with ERP systems like Business Central gives you an edge when adapting to new technologies. You demonstrate exceptional numerical accuracy alongside strong attention to detail which ensures all financial records are maintained precisely.
Experience in an accounts or finance support role is preferable but not essential; your willingness to learn is highly valued.
A good working knowledge of Excel including pivots, lookups, sumifs, xlookups enables you to handle complex data sets efficiently.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as Business Central is desirable but not mandatory; adaptability in learning new systems is important.
Strong numerical accuracy paired with meticulous attention to detail ensures reliable financial reporting across all tasks.
Ability to manage workload effectively in a high-volume environment demonstrates your organisational skills under pressure.
