Assistant Management Accountant

Assistant Management Accountant Location: Harrogate Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Working Pattern: Hybrid working available (3 days in the office, 2 from home)

Robert Half is delighted to be supporting a highly successful and growing business in Harrogate in the search for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional looking to take the next step in their career within a business that is continuing to grow and invest in its people through to 2027. The successful candidate will ideally have already started studying towards CIMA or ACCA, with ongoing study support provided by the business.

Working closely with the wider finance team, this role will offer broad exposure to management accounting responsibilities, alongside the opportunity to develop professionally in a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Key responsibilities:

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts

Supporting the month-end close process

Producing accruals, prepayments and journal postings

Performing balance sheet reconciliations

Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities

Supporting variance analysis and providing commentary on financial performance

Helping to prepare monthly reporting packs for senior stakeholders

Maintaining the fixed asset register

Assisting with cash flow reporting and monitoring

Supporting year-end processes and audit preparation

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

Business partnering with operational teams where required

About you

Experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant or progressive finance role

Ideally studying towards CIMA or ACCA

Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop a long-term career in finance

Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business
