Assistant Management Accountant

Main Duties

As an Assistant Management Accountant your main duties include

Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines

Support month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Analyse performance against budgets and provide variance commentary

Work with operational teams to understand costs and improve reporting

Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders

Support audits and ensure compliance with financial controls

Location / Office / Culture

The role is hybrid with 2 days at home a week, 3 days on-site. The company operate from a modern office based in Marston Green. The business provides a welcoming and professional working atmosphere with a focus on promoting both independent and collaborative efforts.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have

6 months to 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role

Understanding of accounting principles (accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)

Studying towards or interested in ACCA, CIMA, or AAT

Good Excel skills and attention to detail

Strong organisation and time management

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and a proactive approach
