Assistant Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a reputable organisation within the Energy & Natural Resources industry. Based in Edinburgh, the role involves supporting financial operations and maintaining accurate records in a temporary capacity.

pm. 40 hour week

Hybrid working, 2 days from home. 3 office based.

Description

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial reports and records.

Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks, including invoice processing.

Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies.

Collaborate with the Accounting & Finance team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to queries.

Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and internal controls.

Perform other accounting-related duties as required by the team.

Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have

A relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience in financial reporting, reconciliation, and accounts management.

Proficiency with accounting software, SAP and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

The ability to work effectively in a team environment.

An understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
