Assistant Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary professional practice in NW London.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function, with excellent scope for progression.

The Role

Support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the accounts department.

Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and assist with month-end and year-end reporting.

Manage sales and purchase ledgers, credit control and outstanding debt queries.

Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and forecasting.

Support VAT, payroll and pension requirements.

Help improve financial processes through technology, automation and AI.

Take ownership of ad hoc accounting projects and provide general support to the Financial Controller.

Key Requirements

Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience.

Strong Excel skills with experience using Xero, Sage or similar accounting systems.

Technically confident, tech-savvy and open to embracing AI and automation.

Experience within a professional services or service-based environment is advantageous.

Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach.
