Job Description
Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a business based in Birmingham. This role offers an opportunity for you to take on a role that is rounded with a variation of tasks. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head of Finance in the day to day bookkeeping.
Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors as required.
Other Adhoc tasks as required.
Essential requirements
AAT Qualified or active studier.
Excellent Excel skills
Experience in Xero (Desirable)
Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
This role is largely remote and requires you to attend the office 1 day a week
