APPLICATIONS and PROJECTS ENGINEER | Horsforth, Leeds Salary negotiable, depending on experience

In this Applications and Projects Engineer role, you'll play a key role getting involved with PLC programming, building PCs, configuring instruments, producing electrical drawings, building panels and of course designing and configuring SCADA systems.

Working for a leading independent UK supplier of process instrumentation, providing everything from process and temperature controls to data loggers, transmitters, signal conditioners, PLC/SCADA systems and HMI displays.

The company supplies fully configured, tested and documented solutions to customers ranging from small independent businesses to FTSE 100 companies. Through long-standing relationships with manufacturers worldwide, it delivers high-quality products and cost-effective solutions tailored to each customer's requirements.

The Applications and projects Engineer role involves;

Creating outline specifications, selecting the right equipment and methodology to use, as well as responsibility for costs and times

Involved with designing, building, programming and commissioning systems

Visiting client sites to implement the systems as well as training the clients

Supporting clients with ongoing maintenance and system upgrades

THE IDEAL PERSON

Equally at home with screwdrivers, drills, hard drives and software packages

You will probably have a least a HNC in a related degree, e.g. physics, chemical / mechanical / electrical / electronic / control /software engineering.

A keen problem solver with a logical approach.

Interest in automation, control, measurement and sensing.

Experience of a commercial drawing package such as AutoCAD

Real attention to detail and thirst for knowledge.

Initiative to work alone, coming up with and implementing new ideas.

Excellent time management.

Knowledge or experience of some of the following;

SCADA packages

PLC programming

Modbus over RS485 and TCP/IP

Access/SQL databases

Electrical control circuits

Experience would be an advantage for this role but newly / lower qualified applicants will be seriously considered if they can demonstrate the attitude and aptitude required.
