AI Engineer

A large, multi-site organisation with a significant data and technology function is looking to appoint an AI Engineer to help deliver AI-driven solutions that improve access to information, streamline processes and support better decision-making.
The Role
As an AI Engineer, you'll design, build and deploy AI agents using Microsoft technologies, with a particular focus on Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Fabric. Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you'll translate operational challenges into practical AI solutions that are scalable, secure and aligned to governance standards.
You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of AI agents, from requirements gathering and solution design through to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
Work with stakeholders to understand business processes and user requirements.
Build conversational and workflow-driven solutions that improve access to data and insight.
Integrate AI agents with enterprise data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric.
Apply governance, security and operational controls across AI solutions.
Support testing, release management and ongoing support activities.
Monitor agent performance and drive enhancements based on user feedback and business value.
Collaborate with data, platform and architecture teams to ensure solutions are robust and maintainable.
About You
You'll bring experience delivering AI-powered solutions within an enterprise environment and be comfortable working with both technical teams and business users.
Experience building AI agents, copilots or intelligent automation solutions.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Copilot Studio and related Microsoft AI technologies.
Understanding of AI governance, permissions, security and operational best practice.
Experience working with enterprise data platforms, ideally Microsoft Fabric.
Strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Experience supporting solutions through testing, deployment and production support lifecycles.
Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
