Autograph Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Weston-super-Mare, seeking an Accounts Technician to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment. Working with a varied portfolio of clients, you will gain exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client advisory work while building strong professional relationships and delivering a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.

Prepare personal and corporation tax computations and returns.

Deliver bookkeeping and management accounting services for a diverse client portfolio.

Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients.

Complete Companies House and HMRC filings within required deadlines.

Support clients with day-to-day accounting and taxation queries.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience within an accountancy practice and be confident managing a varied workload while maintaining excellent levels of accuracy and client service. You will be organised, proactive and keen to continue developing your technical accounting skills.

You should ideally possess

Previous experience working as an Accounts Technician, Accounts Assistant or similar within an accountancy practice.

AAT qualification, part-qualified status or equivalent practical experience.

Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.

Knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and financial reporting requirements.

Good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Word.
