ClearCourse is looking for an Accounts Associate to join our Shared Service Centre (SSC) Finance team in Manchester City Centre.
This is a varied role within our Record to Report (RTR) function, with a particular focus on daily bank reconciliations and cash posting, alongside intercompany accounting, billing and settlements.

The Role Reporting to the RTR Process Lead, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of our Record to Report processes.
A key part of your role will be ensuring our bank accounts are accurately reconciled, cash is correctly posted and any discrepancies are investigated and resolved. You’ll also support our intercompany accounting processes, including billing, recharges and settlements across the ClearCourse group.
Alongside your core accounting responsibilities, you’ll help document and improve our finance processes, administer account reconciliations through BlackLine and explore how tools such as AI and automation can make our processes more efficient. What You’ll Be Doing
Completing daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and ensuring transactions are accurately matched
Posting cash accurately and investigating any unreconciled or unmatched transactions
Working with stakeholders across the business to resolve reconciliation queries and outstanding items
Supporting month-end close by ensuring bank reconciliations are completed and signed off within agreed deadlines
Managing intercompany accounts and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately
Preparing intercompany billing and recharges between businesses across the group
Supporting intercompany settlement runs and investigating differences between counterparties
Maintaining clear and accurate documentation for key finance processes
Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve existing processes
Administering account reconciliations within BlackLine, including assignments, workflows and certification
Supporting colleagues with BlackLine queries and troubleshooting
Using AI and automation tools, including Claude and Copilot, to reduce repetitive manual work and improve efficiency
Supporting the wider RTR team with continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with hands-on finance experience who enjoys working with detail, solving problems and taking ownership of their work.
Previous experience working within a finance or accounting role
Practical experience completingbank reconciliations and cash posting
Experience with intercompany accounting, billing, recharges or settlements
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
The ability to investigate discrepancies and see issues through to resolution
Good communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across a business
An interest in using technology and AI tools to make finance processes more efficient
A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Experience using BlackLine or another account reconciliation platform
Experience working within a Shared Service Centre or Record to Report environment
Experience documenting, improving or standardising finance processes
Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Xero or Sage
An AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or you're currently studying towards one
