Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available) Department: Accounts & Advisory Reporting to: Directors / Senior Leadership Team The Role

We are working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading a small team. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services while ensuring excellent client relationships and efficient workflow management. This position offers a genuine blend of technical delivery, client advisory work and team leadership, with strong scope for progression within a growing and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders

Review statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax computations

Act as the main point of contact for key clients, providing proactive advice

Oversee workflow, deadlines and quality control across the accounts team

Support and develop junior and senior team members through coaching and review

Identify opportunities for advisory work and additional services

Liaise with senior leadership on client and technical matters

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures

About You

ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience within practice

Strong background in UK accountancy practice with portfolio management experience

Confident reviewing accounts, tax returns and management information

Proven ability to supervise and develop team members

Strong communication skills and commercial awareness

Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple client priorities
