The Opportunity

A highly regarded accountancy practice in Croydon is looking to recruit a Part-Time Accountant to join its growing team.

You'll work with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, gaining exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping, and client advisory work.

This is a permanent part-time position, with flexible working arrangements and hybrid working available.

Salary is competitive and dependent on experience, qualifications, and working hours.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing year-end accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients

Supporting clients with tax, VAT, and compliance requirements

Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records

Preparing VAT returns and related submissions

Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries

Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks

Supporting process improvements and helping to enhance client service delivery

Collaborating closely with colleagues across the practice

About You

The ideal candidate will have

Experience working within a UK accountancy practice

ACA, ACCA, AAT, or equivalent qualifications, or be actively studying towards qualification

Experience preparing accounts and supporting tax compliance work

Strong communication and client relationship management skills

Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks

A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach
