Accountant

Our client is looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the accounts for a portfolio of residential properties. The role will cover day-to-day accounting, service charge accounts, reconciliations, credit control and financial reporting.

Salary: £35K - £45K

Hours: 9am – 5pm

Process and reconcile supplier, contractor and bank transactions.

Prepare payment runs and maintain accurate accounting records.

Allocate payments and expenses to the correct property and service charge accounts.

Resolve invoice, payment and reconciliation discrepancies.

Assist with service charge budgets, demands, recharges and balancing charges.

Monitor expenditure and maintain accurate service charge accounts.

Monitor leaseholder accounts and arrears.

Contact leaseholders regarding overdue payments and payment plans.

Maintain arrears records and liaise with solicitors or debt collection agencies where required.

Prepare budget versus expenditure reports and support month/year-end accounting.

Experience & Skills

Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounts

Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Excellent numerical accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.

Strong reconciliation, communication and problem-solving skills.
