Title: Accountant

Location: West London (100% office based)

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + benefits

Our client, a multinational shipping and energy group, is looking for an Accountant to join its West London finance team.

This is a broad accounting role offering exposure across financial reporting, management accounts, reconciliations, and month-end processes within an international business. The position would suit a part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant, or an experienced accountant currently working towards qualification, who is looking to develop within a multinational environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting

Support month-end and year-end close processes

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items

Assist with P&L analysis and provide commentary on key movements and variances

Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, and other month-end adjustments

Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and reporting

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting

Support statutory reporting and the year-end audit process

Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries

Work closely with finance teams across the international group to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Assist with maintaining strong financial controls and accounting processes

Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and finance efficiencies

Support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting and reporting projects

Role Requirements

Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA, or equivalent, with candidates at varying stages of qualification considered

Previous experience within a financial or management accounting role

Good understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting

Strong Excel skills

Experience within an international or multi-entity business would be advantageous

Shipping, Energy, Commodities, Oil & Gas, or Natural Resources experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-currency environments would be advantageous

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business

Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to reporting deadlines

Comfortable working 100% office based in West London
