Job Description
We are looking for a Product Manager to own the vision and delivery of a key part of Ecosurety’s platform.
Ecosurety operates in one of the most complex and fast-moving regulatory environments in the UK. Clients face EPR submissions, RAM assessments, Plastic Packaging Tax, PPWR on the horizon, and a growing web of international obligations. Today, much of the support Ecosurety provides is delivered through a combination of people, spreadsheets, and tools. Our challenge now is to build a coherent product experience and best augment our internal teams to deliver best-in-class experiences for our clients.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a mature product. It is a role for someone who can look at a complex, regulated, high-stakes domain, understand what clients need, and turn that into a product that makes their lives meaningfully easier.
Ecosurety is an industry leading company of circa 100 people, based in the heart of Bristol’s vibrant city centre, with a mission to accelerate change towards an environmentally and socially sustainable world. Our clients are many of the UK big brands and retailers, often facing particularly big challenges over their use of packaging. We are a Certified B Corp, committed to balancing profit with our social and environmental impact.
Job Description Product vision Defining what the long term vision looks like for the part of the product platform your managing. Understanding the regulatory landscape The best product decisions in this space come from genuinely understanding what clients are trying to do, what the regulations require of them, and where the friction is. Turning complexity into clarity The regulatory world is truly complicated. Your job is to make the experience feel simple. That means strong instincts about information architecture, workflow design, and what a great experience looks like, and the ability to push back when complexity is being passed to the client rather than absorbed by the product. Working closely with clients and internal experts Embedding the realities of clients and experts into your day-to-day will ensure we’re making the most impactful product design and priority decisions. Defining and delivering the roadmap Translating client needs and regulatory requirements into a clear, prioritised roadmap. Working with engineering, design and subject matter experts to ship things that work. Be comfortable making trade-offs and communicating them clearly. Measuring what matters Define success metrics for your product and track them. This might include client engagement, reduction in manual support requests, time saved in submission workflows, or adoption of self-serve features.
Person Specification You’ve likely • Got examples of how you’ve taken complex systems and turned them into clear and intuitive solutions for customers. • Experienced working with data-heavy products, workflow products or platform products. • Made tough trade-offs when prioritizing and can explain how you made your decisions. • Formed clear narratives and articulated them clearly to the wider business and to customers. • Turned insight from customers into products. • Launched or scaled products in the business space. • Boosted your own workflow using the latest AI tooling.
You may have also: • Experienced compliance, regulatory reporting, sustainability data, packaging data, supply chain data or product master data. • Built AI-enabled or products. • Become familiar with EPR, RAM, Plastic Packaging Tax, DRS or wider producer responsibility regulations.
Package • C. £50,000 per year • Permanent full-time contract (would consider some flexibility for the right candidate) • 28 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays • 5 x salary life insurance, 7% employer pension contribution, up to 10% bonus, employee health cash plan, paid sick leave, critical illness cover, 2 weeks workcation, options to buy additional holiday or unpaid leave, 3 days volunteer leave, happy to talk flexible working, remote working, wellbeing support, great office location, £250 home working set up payment. • Hybrid working: Employees are expected to work with colleagues (primarily at the office) at least 50% of the month
Ecosurety offers a working environment that enables our team to perform at their best, with flexible hours, remote working options, access to training and employee benefits. We focus on outputs, rather than work location or hours. If you are well organised, enjoy working with others and eager to make a meaningful contribution, please get in touch! We are an Equal Opportunities employer and welcome applications from all. We embrace flexibility and diversity in the workplace and aim to create a working environment in which all individuals can make best use of their skills, free from discrimination, harassment or bullying. We reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of any of our job vacancies if we receive a suitable number of high-quality applications from which to make a shortlist. Therefore, we recommend that you apply for one of our roles as soon as possible rather than wait until the published closing date.
