Electromechanical Field Service EngineerNorth & North West England | Field-BasedThe Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electromechanical Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering services team supporting healthcare and specialist diagnostic equipment across the North and North West of England.
This field-based role will initially focus on the installation, servicing, maintenance, repair and support of ultrasound and ophthalmic equipment, with opportunities to develop skills across additional technologies and product ranges through ongoing training and development.
The successful candidate will work from a home-based location with convenient access to the M62/M1 corridor and will support customers throughout the region, with occasional travel across the UK and Europe when required. Key Responsibilities
Install, service, maintain, repair, modify and upgrade specialist healthcare and diagnostic equipment.
Carry out equipment relocations, moves and changes as required.
Deliver a professional, responsive and customer-focused service at all times.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and methodically.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with management, colleagues and customers regarding service activities and technical issues.
Complete service documentation, reports and system updates accurately and within agreed timescales.
Maintain vehicle stock and spare parts inventory effectively.
Manage equipment returns and disposal processes in line with quality and environmental procedures.
Attend and successfully complete product and technical training programmes.
Adhere to all health and safety policies and safe working practices.
Support service activities in other regions when business needs require.
Travel to customer sites including city-centre locations where public transport may occasionally be required.
About You You will be a technically capable engineer with strong fault-finding skills and a customer-focused approach. Essential Skills & Experience
Previous field service or engineering experience.
Strong electromechanical, electrical and electronic engineering knowledge.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Well organised, professional and reliable.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Valid passport or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within a medical, healthcare or diagnostic equipment environment.
Experience servicing, repairing or installing ultrasound equipment.
Software troubleshooting experience.
Engineering qualifications such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent.
GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
Working Hours
45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Core service coverage between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
Flexibility required for occasional early starts and late finishes.
Participation in a 1-in-4 Saturday rota (additional hours paid/compensated in line with company policy).
